Fiber optic cables (also known as optical fibers or FOs) are very sensitive; they can tolerate only little friction and must not be kinked. If this does happen, data transmission via the optical fibers is no longer possible. For this reason, the air flow must be precisely metered, monitored and repeatedly adjusted when blowing the cables into the empty tubes.
The AIRJET product range from Breitbandtechnik Deutschland has several safety features. Depending on the model, various functions are available: These include automatic monitoring and manual adjustment of surface pressure, integrated pressure tests, reverse mode and a crash test function.
The AIRJET 300 was developed for use on all network levels; due to its performance, we recommend it primarily for network levels 1 and 2. It was the first blowing device with fully automatic monitoring of the cable surface pressure and a fully integrated pressure test unit for high-pressure tests in accordance with ZTV-40. This ensures particularly safe fiber optic installation, even on long and complicated routes. In addition, the AIRJET 300, like most other devices in the AIRJET family, features fully automatic logging in accordance with Telekom specifications.
The AIRJET 280 is used on network levels 1-3. It has the same basic functions as the AIRJET 300, but does not have the integrated pressure test and automatic logging.
The AIRJET 100 serves network levels 3-4 and is therefore the right blowing device for laying fiber optics up to and in the building. With this machine, all house connection cables from the network distributor as well as all fibers or cables within the houses can be laid safely, quickly and without kinks. The AIRJET 100 features fully automatic logging in accordance with Telekom specifications and a fully automatic crash test function, which can be used to determine the maximum thrust force.
Like the AIRJET 300, the AIRJET 150 can be used on network levels 1-4. Its newly developed electric drive with DuoSync, in combination with the intelligent software and fully automatic logging, makes it the blowing device of the future. Its fully automatic crash test function enables even inexperienced installers to blow fiber optic cables safely.
The surface pressure is applied pneumatically on all AIRJET models. The set force is determined exactly by a pressure sensor and shown on the display. This function makes the blowing process reproducible and gentle on the cable. Cable-specific features can thus be taken into account during the blowing process.
The AIRJET 300 is the first and only blow-in unit with a fully integrated pressure test unit for high and low pressure tests in accordance with ZTV-40. This independently performs a pressure test including documentation for pipe runs in NE2 and NE3 through the distribution unit at the push of a button and shows the operator whether the empty pipe is suitable for blowing in the fiber optic cables.
In an automated test run, it is checked how much thrust the cable used can withstand or with what thrust the cable can be blown in. During this test, both the blow-in speed and the permissible motor torque can be adjusted to the combination of existing empty conduit and fibers used. The unique control system allows the respective parameters to be set independently from 0 to 100 %.
The AIRJET 100 interrupts the blowing process as soon as the measuring wheel detects a standstill of the fiber optic cable. This function is particularly precise and accurate due to the use of an encoder: The AIRJET 100 detects the rotation of the measuring wheel in 360 individual segments and can thus query the status of the cable at every single degree of a full revolution and stop the process if necessary.
The DuoSync drive was developed by Breitbandtechnik Deutschland. It works purely electrically. The two drive wheels are hydraulically controlled and driven absolutely synchronously by its specially produced, double-acting double cylinder. This ensures uniform, maximum power transmission to the fiber optic cables and even more precise control of the thrust force. This ensures the best possible protection of the fiber optic cables.
